Does anyone here like him?
I read his Foucault's Pendulum and The Name of the Rose. They were kind of boring.

I tried reading The Name of the Rose 5 years ago or something. It was too heavy for me then; planning on reading it sometime soon though.

Maiden's Sign of the Cross tells the tale of The Name of the Rose in 10 minutes.

Listen to the song, don't read the book.

It really doesn't. It has very little to do with the book AFAIK.

I read the first 100 pages of The Name of The Rose a month ago or such, then gave up, in favor of Dune :)

You suck too. I love those books. Foucault's Pendulum is one of the most compulsive page turners I've ever read. On the other hand, I tried reading The Island of the Day Before and went into a coma halfway through.

Foucault's Pendulum was so fucking boring. It was an extremely well-educated man flexing his intellectual muscles, saying: look at how smart I am!

Not at all, mon frere. It's a dazzling exploration of man's historical quest to find cosmic explanations for the happenstance of our existences.
